WHY STUDY JAPANESE @ CKM?

1st Level Japanese Students are introduced to communication skills involving reading, writing, listening and speaking in Japanese, as well as developing cultural awareness of the differences between Japanese and Western Culture. In addition the Japanese syllabary and writing systems will be introduced, Hiragana and Katakana.

2nd Level Japanese Students will continue learning communication skills involving reading, writing, and especially, listening and speaking in Japanese. An emphasis on writing and oral communication will be used for assessment. Plus an introduction to Kanji (Chinese Characters).

3rd Level Japanese Students in this course must have mastered all of the previous two years materials and have a higher level of communication is required to be successful in this course. Japanese III will rely on an extensive use of all their communicative skills in reading, writing and speaking. Students will be expected to be proficient and skilled in all three alphabets, Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji

4th Level Japanese This course is intended as a cumulative experience for students studying Japanese and a preparation coarse for college level Japanese. Students in this course must have mastered all of the previous three years materials to be successful in this course.
